Foragers (2022), a powerful documentary by Joumana Manna that explores the criminalization of Palestinian foraging traditions under Israeli law. Through archival footage, fictional reenactments, and documentary storytelling, the film delves into the intersection of food, politics, and resistance.

Discussion with Maisan Hamdan – 21:30
Following the screening, we will hold a discussion with Maisan Hamdan, a Palestinian writer, cook, and activist based in Berlin. She is passionate about flavors, imagination, and revisiting her food culture, heritage, and wild plants. The discussion will also explore culinary appropriation, focusing on how Israeli narratives have claimed traditional Palestinian dishes such as hummus and falafel as their own. We will reflect on the broader implications of food as a tool of cultural identity and resistance.
