«splinter: a fragment of a larger object; a foreign body that penetrates or is purposely injected into a body.
to splinter: to break, or to make something break, into small, thin, sharp pieces; to divide into smaller groups that are no longer connected; to separate from a larger group Pop songs drown in a stream of consciousness, voice and guitar in a beautiful struggle to stay afloat among the droning and the noise. Showing fragments of stories that need no completion, for when everything is crumbling, what is there to do but to lay mosaics of dust?Melodies morph into textures, ghosts of slow core and shoegaze haunt the sonic landscape ranging from lo-fi aesthetics to to ambient swellings and grainy tapestries of sound.Bill Bühler has mainly been around as 1/2 of the electro-pop duo mischgewebe, while in his own artistic practice experimenting more freely with sound, text, video and installation.Inspired by these last years spent in a balancing act between pop & experimental projects, he tries to bring the best of both worlds together in his debut EP splinter. For the last months, hehas been re-imagining the three tracks of the EP as a live performance, which he will play for the first time this evening.
